Letters and correspondence from our heroes in uniform serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

My team had the opportunity to celebrate Veterans' Day with some fine cigars courtesy of your organization. We just wanted to say thanks and let you know that we really appreciated the cigars! Col Mancini, who introduced us to you, said you guys really appreciate pictures, so I attached a good one of us enjoying our smokes. Thanks again!
Capt Ross Dotzlaf, Habbaniyah LMAT, Al Taqqadum, Iraq"

"I received the Air Purifier on Friday afternoon, I put it in our smoke room this morning and plugged it in and letting it run to try and get the smoke smell out of the room. Tell the Company that all of us here are really thankful for such a great gift. And thank you again for all your support."
Sgt Brian Caudle, Charlie Battery – Iraq

"The last past few months, all of our soldiers in this office have been working long hours to close out the budget and their requirements for the fiscal year end of 2009. At the end we celebrated with cigars donated from the club and a cook out with hamburgers and hotdogs. I have attached a few pictures and I am waiting on other pictures to send. We can't thank you enough for the donation of cigars. We had plenty to share with over 60 personnel that were present at our celebration. I will be sending you more pictures as I get them from other individuals. We can't say thank you enough."
SSG David Austin, MNC-I C8 / I-CORPS Plans & Intergation

"We here at Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan, would like some smokes sent this way if possible. We have a dedicated "Cigar Saturday" each week and whatever other excuse we can use to enjoy a fine cigar! Thanks for the great support guys, you're awesome for doing this!"
MSgt J. E. Campbell, MEB-A G-4 Assessment Team, Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan

"Thanks again for the cigars they are truly appreciated by all. We got actually rained out last Saturday night from our cigars, football, and fake beer. It has not rained since I arrived in June. I owe you some better pictures and they will be forthcoming. We have a AH-1 squadron det here at TQ that will be lighting up and taking pictures. I have passed on your information to my old squadron that is in OEF, have you heard anything from MAG-40, or HMH-772? They are in Helmand Province, Afghanistan."

"You guys are the best. Another very robust package of fine cigars has lit the faces of many a Marine and Sailor here at TQ. The t-shirts are also a pleasant surprise. We of course have the Marine Corps Birthday coming up and will be able to celebrate with not only our 2 beer ration but also a good smoke. We will be departing in a while, but I will continue to spread the word regarding 'Cigars for Heroes' to our relief. I know I promised more pictures and I intend to keep that promise. Semper Fidelis."
M Mancini, Col USMC, Al Taqaddum (TQ) Air Boss

"I Just wanted to send a message to Cigars for Heroes to thank you for the great cigars, T-shirts and hats. Everyone really appreciated the great things you are doing to support the troops. I am happy to say that about 10 of the 20 cigars you have sent have went to ash. They are some great cigars. I really enjoyed sitting back and enjoying them with friends here, they have a nice cocoa smell to them and burn really nice. The flavor is not overpowering at all, we really enjoyed them. Keep up the great work supporting the troops and hope to finally meet everyone once we return home. Have a great day and remember Roll with the Best."
Sgt. Brian Caudle, US Army - Charlie Battery, Iraq

"Hey John! Sorry for the delay in writing, we've been pretty busy. We received the packages on the 7th. Attached is a picture of more of our crew smoking some of the ones you sent. They made it here just in time for the Marine Corps Birthday on the 10th. I've passed out most of them and continue to get great reviews on how well they smoke. Like the hats? These are now part of our official smoking attire since the weather is getting cooler. I'm the second one from the left with the gray hat. Thanks again!"
